PeopleNet Communications, which makes integrated onboard computing and mobile communications systems for the trucking industry, will be acquired by technology firm Trimble Navigation.
Terms were not disclosed for the transcation, which is expected to close in the third quarter, Trimble said in a statement.
“The PeopleNet management team is enthusiastic about joining Trimble,� said Ron Konezny, PeopleNet’s founder and CEO.
“The combination of PeopleNet’s product portfolio with Trimble’s broad technology base will allow us to create unique solutions that will enable our customers to manage their most important assets,â€� he said in a statement.
Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Trimble was founded in 1978. It said in a statement it “applies technology to make field and mobile workers in businesses and government significantly more productive.�
