Oshkosh’s 3Q Income Declines

Specialty truck maker Oshkosh Corp. said Thursday its fiscal third-quarter profit dropped from a year ago as sales of military vehicles declined.

Net income fell to $68.4 million, or 75 cents per share, from $211.2 million, or $2.31, a year before.

Net sales for the quarter ended June 30 fell to $2.02 billion, from $2.44 billion, Oshkosh said. Defense sales fell 34.9%, to $1.11 billion, while access equipment sales rose 44.3% to $562.7 million.

Commercial segment sales remained flat at $158.5 million, Oshkosh said.
