Southern California’s “Carmageddon weekend finished without a hitch as work on Interstate 405 that had closed the busy freeway wrapped up early Sunday, about 17 hours ahead of schedule, the Los Angeles Times reported.

I-405 is a busy motorway used by truckers in the Los Angeles area, and contractors were able to demolish and rebuild the Mulholland Drive bridge ahead of Monday morning’s rush hour, the Times reported.

I-405, also known as the San Diego Freeway, connects to several other Los Angeles highways, including Interstate 5, the primary north-south West Coast link between the Mexican and Canadian borders.
