Echo Global Logistics said Thursday it has acquired Phoenix truckload brokerage firm Advantage Transport for an undisclosed sum.
Advantage Transportâ€™s owners, Joe Larson and Matt Steckner, are staying on as regional vice presidents and their company is now doing business as Echo Global. All Advantage Transport employees were retained.
Chicago-based Echo Global Logistics provides a blend of brokerage-oriented services that include two operations. One is transactional systems to serve the spot market and shippers with flexible requirements. The other, known as â€œenterprise,â€� is meant to provide third-party services to specific customers on longer-term basis.
